Server Recovery Service

The Problem

Server restoration today requires the location of all licensing and media, reinstallation of the Windows Operating System, reinstallation of backup software, and finally the restoration of the original data. This can be an extremely time consuming process. Secondly, accomplishing this on dissimilar hardware, or in the event that a server is completely gone, can cause compatibility problems like: “Will my new tape drive read my old tape?” or “Will my new tape drive work with my old backup software?”

The Solution

The NSG Server Recovery Service provides a solution to this issue by saving an image of each server on a recurring basis. This is a supplement to the already existing backup procedure. By installing software and disk drives, we can write a complete image of the entire server to external disk drives on a regular basis. Rotating these drives to secure locations continuously maintains a complete image of each server offsite.
