Postini™ is a third-party service available through Network Solutions Group, LLC that provides comprehensive services to filter spam and viruses from email and to protect your email system from email attacks. Postini™ is the only anti-spam solution to defend email systems against Directory Harvest Attacks (DHAs) — an aggressive technique spammers use to gather employee email addresses by running scripts against email servers. DHA propagation is the primary driver for the significant growth in spam targeted to corporate email users.

How does Postini™ work?

Unlike other solutions that filter email at the desktop, server or gateway, Postini™ is positioned between the Internet and your corporate network, creating a secure wall around your email system that extends to the email entry point — the Internet. All incoming email is routed through Postini's secure data centers and scanned by sophisticated heuristic-rules engine, which analyzes every part of an email message — from the IP address of the sender to the message content.

This process is executed in a highly secure, automated environment that prevents anyone from viewing legitimate email. And good email is never stored to disk. Postini™ provides tools that make it easy for administrators or end-users to review quarantined email, accept messages they would like to receive and create their own white lists and black lists.

Yes, any company can sign up for Postini(tm), however, there are startup costs and a required minimum number of email accounts (approximately 200). That's where NSG comes in. By combining the user counts of our clients under one NSG account, we are able to meet these minimum Postini requirements, thus allowing us to offer Postini™ to you at a reduced monthly rate and startup costs.
