Blacklisting Notification Service

What is a Blacklist?

A Blacklist is a database containing known IP addresses used by individuals or companies suspected of sending Spam. Various ISP's and bandwidth providers subscribe to these DNS Blacklist databases to filter out Spam sent across their network or to their subscribers.

How can your organization be blacklisted?

  • You may be blacklisted through a submitted complaint of a client who did not approve of the subject matter or email content received from your organization
  • You may be blacklisted maliciously from a competitor or opposing party
  • If your public IP address falls in the range of public addresses that are suspected of spamming

Using a Blacklisting Notification Service

With a Blacklisting Notification service in place, our technical staff is promptly alerted if your domain or IP address is blacklisted. This proactive notification allows us to start the delisting process before it results in time-consuming and potentially embarrassing email communication issues between your organization and clients.

How can your organization prevent being Blacklisted in the first place?

There are a few steps you can take to lessen the likelihood of being blacklisted:

  • Use a third-party email campaign service for sending
  • Include an Unsubscribe option on outbound mailings and honor any replies to be removed from future mailings
  • Discourage the use of profanity on outbound emails sent from your organization
